His death = Your death

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 (World English Bible)

14 For the love of Christ constrains us; because we judge thus, that one died for all, therefore all died.

15 He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again.

(A Faithful Version)  For the love of Christ compels us, because we have thus concluded that if one died for all, then all died.

Once you have a revelation of the fact (it is a fact), that His death was your death it will compel you to do the things that need to be done simply because you love him.  This love will bring you to the place where you no longer want to live for yourself, not because the scripture says "thou shalt not!" but, because you love Him.  When you really see that His death was your death, you will find that, that is the place where legalism ends and real life in God begins.
